Regular detergent might be used in a pinch, however, if a lesser amount is used so the washtub doesn’t fill with suds. It’s also a good idea to clean the washer once a month to remove soap buildup in the tub and keep the washer fresh. Add your clothes to the washtub. Pour 1/2 the amount of regular powdered or liquid detergent for your load size into the detergent dispenser. Turn the wash cycle selector knob to select the appropriate wash cycle, then press “Start.” Remove any clothes that are in the washer tub. Add 2/3 cup of chlorine bleach to the bleach dispenser.
