RegCleaner is a freeware application that allows users to clean the registry on their Windows computers. A registry is a collection of files that stores information about almost everything on a Windows based computer. Clearing out old, unused entries in the registry may help improve performance and boot time on a computer. RegCleaner allows users to do this quickly. Download and install RegCleaner. Run the program. Examine the list of registry files that come up on the screen. Select the programs that are no longer installed on the computer, and click “Remove Selected.” This will get rid of registry entries that are no longer necessary. Select “Startup List” from the list of options at the top of the RegCleaner screen. This will bring up a list of programs the computer automatically loads when it is turned on.
