How Do You Use Rails When Snowboarding?
Follow this guide to get the best setup when you’re jibbing on rails. First of all, snowboard rails and skate rails have one major difference. Snowboard rails must have a ramp leading up to them. Skaters don’t have this problem because they can ollie much higher. Unless you have incredible leg strength, it would really suck to be jumping all over the place on the snow. Set your rail up on the hill and bury the legs into the snow a few inches. Make sure that it will not wobble side to side or move in any way. Then, build a small ramp and leads up to the front of the rail and is flush with the tip. The goal here is to have a smooth transition from snow to rail, with no bump or gap. Just a smooth ride right onto the rail. Take your time building the ramp. Make sure that the top of the ramp doesn’t get worn down or cave in so there is a space to the rail.
