Porcelain tiles are a durable, maintenance-free product that can be used anywhere in the home. Since they are waterproof and resistant to bacteria, as well as extremely hard and durable, they make a great kitchen counter alternative to laminates or solid surface counters. Porcelain tiles can be edged with a bullnose since the color of the tile goes all the way through its clay body to form a clean and stylish countertop for any kitchen. Lay the tiles out on the counter in a dry layout. A dry layout consists of laying the tiles without mortar to determine cuts, placement and grout joints. Begin by laying a full tile, in the front, center of each run of the counter. Lay the next tiles out to each side evenly. This will create an even tile installation. Mark the tiles to be cut with a straight edge and pencil and cut them on the tile saw before returning them to the dry layout to double-check placement. To form edge tiles out of the porcelain, if pre-made bullnose tiles are not available,
