How Do You Use Photoshop Gradients To Retouch A Blown Out Sky?

0

In this Photoshop tutorial we’ll retouch a blown out sky utilizing gradients. Sometimes a photograph taken outdoors will exhibit an over exposed sky; this is a problem where the sky appears white or washed out. There are several ways to retouch photos that will alleviate this problem using Photoshop gradients. First, we’ll create a layer, fill it with a gradient and apply a blending mode from the “Layers Palette” to create a dramatic but simple new sky. Launch Photoshop 5 or later. Open the “Tools” and “Layers” Palettes in the scroll down selection MENU “Window”–top of your screen. Leave these two PALETTEs open throughout this exercise. Select a photo to use; any light colored, washed-out sky with a fairly simple outline will work. If you’d like to use mine and need help with making a screenshot, please see my article: How to Make a Screen Shot Using a PC, link in resources at end of this tutorial. Click anywhere within the photo to select the “Background” layer of the image. Double c
