How Do You Use PH Test Strips?
I have used PH strips for years in restaurants and other food facilities to determine the acidity or alkalinity of food. The more acidic a food is the less potentially hazardous it is. Potentially hazardous foods must be stored cold or held hot. If a food is determined to be highly acidic than those storage requirements are not an issue. PH strips can be used for other reasons besides food, including monitoring one’s health and ensuring safety. PH strips are much easier to use than the PH paper. Know what type of PH sticks you are using. Look at the color chart and know the range from acidity to alkalinity. Most PH charts will start at about 4.5 to 9.0. Neutral is around 7.0. The acidic colors are depicted with red and orange tones. Alkaline colors in blue and purple tones. Neutral is shown as a neutral color.
