How Do You Use Paint Thinner To Remove Oil Stains In Concrete?

0

Concrete is a porous material and will soak up stains spilled on it, including oil. Oil stains are bound to form anywhere vehicles are parked regularly: parking lots, driveways, curbsides, garage floors. When people walk across the stain, they pick up oily residue and track it wherever they are headed–even inside your house or office space. Clean oil stains in concrete using easy-to-find products and very little effort. Saturate the area of concrete stained with oil with paint thinner. Cover the saturated area with an absorbent material like cat box filler, cornmeal, sawdust or talc. Allow the thinner and absorbent material to remain on the stain overnight so that the latter may soak up the former (and the oil stain with it). Sweep away the absorbent material with a broom, collect it and throw it away. Repeat the process if necessary.
