How Do You Use Paint Pens On Gourds?
Paint pens or paint markers can be used to decorate dried gourds in the same manner as acrylic paints. The biggest difference is that paint pens are easier for many people to use because you can simply draw on the gourd in the same manner you would use a marker or pencil. This allows you to add details to the gourd that may be difficult to create using a paintbrush. Clean the dried gourd with warm, soapy water and a scrub brush to remove any mold or dirt on the surface of the gourd before you begin painting. Dry the gourd completely with a clean towel. Paint will not properly adhere to a wet gourd. Apply a base coat of acrylic paint to the entire gourd with a paintbrush. Let the acrylic paint dry completely. Use your paint pens to draw directly on the gourd. Continue to decorate the gourd until you are satisfied with your design. Let all of the paint dry completely before you continue.
