Macromedia Flash 5 is an older version of the popular Internet application. This particular application allows you to view streaming video on any Internet browser and prevents you from downloading the video to your computer before being able to watch the movie. Even though the software is out of date, it still functions with most Flash-related media on the Internet. Using the program is similar to newer versions of the program. Open your Internet browser and call up a site with Flash-supported videos. Among the dozens of popular sites are ESPN, CNN and Hulu. Click the video you want to watch, then wait for it to load onto the computer screen. Once the video loads it begins to play automatically. Click “Pause” in the lower right corner of the video window. This stops the video where it is. Select the “Pause” button again to return to playback.
