L’Oreal Expert Hair Color & Highlights is a two-step system that combines an all-over base color with natural looking highlights. The results look very natural. Hair color is used for many reasons, such as giving a boost to dull hair and adding shine, covering gray hair and trying out a completely new color. Place a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the top of your hairline, ears and back of the neck to keep the color from staining your skin. Dampen an old rag and keep on hand to wipe up drips or color that gets on skin. It will not stain if wiped off right away. Open the bottle of developer and add the bottle of color to it. Put the cap on and shake to mix the color. Twist the plastic tab on the applicator lid until it comes off. Put on the gloves and apply the color to your hair. When all the color has been applied, pile your hair on top of your head and secure with a hair clip to keep loose hairs from staining the back of your neck. Leave on for 25 minutes.
