Limestone is a white colored stone with dark accent colors. Limestone, like brick, is an ideal stone accent for any flower bed and an elegant addition to any garden. You can place limestone bricks in a circle to act as a large planter. If the flower bed is larger or is located along the front of your house, place the limestone as a border along the house and around the foliage. Step 1 Order limestone blocks from your local home or garden store. Have them delivered or pick them up if you have a truck. Step 2 Place the limestone blocks one layer high around the flower bed. This is a sufficient height for a garden retaining wall. Step 3 Mix 6 parts of sand, with 1 part lime and 1 part white cement to create an appropriate mortar mix.
