Using lighting effects in 2D imagery allows the designer greater freedom in creativity and realism when editing and creating images. Some of the effects that can be achieved through the use of lighting effects in Adobe Photoshop are making rainbows, light beams and glowing images, as well as trails of motion for moving objects. The manipulation of light is used for both emphasizing realism in photography to creating super natural, fantasy or science fiction-based imagery for content creation.
