Earwax is a naturally occurring substance in your ears. It is a sticky liquid that is secreted by the cerumen glands. Although it can be an embarrassing problem, it is actually good to keep some earwax in your ears. It is the body’s natural defense against insects, dirt, bacteria and other unwanted elements, in that it keeps them from getting too deeply into your ears. But too much earwax can cause problems ranging from hearing loss to severe ear pain. For this reason, it is important to cleanse the ear canal occasionally. It is best to have a doctor clean your ears, but if you do not have the time or money to seek professional help with it, there are other alternatives. Mix equal parts water and hydrogen peroxide. Try mixing them in the cap of the bottle of the hydrogen peroxide, to limit the amount of cleanup you’ll have to do.
