How Do You Use Hair Styling To Help Hide Protruding Ears?
• Advise a client with short hair and protruding ears to begin growing their hair. Short hairstyles tend to emphasize the protrusion of the ears and there is nothing available to cover them. • Cover protruding ears when styling. Longer hair should be styled into shapes that hide the ears from view. • Use volume or fullness in shorter hair. If a client would prefer to maintain short hair, suggest styles that favor volume and fullness around the face and in some way at least partially cover the ear, if not completely. Work with your client to help them understand the reasoning behind the need for any particular style and use words that compliment your client’s features rather than reinforcing the client’s own negativity about their looks.
