How Do You Use Champagne Flutes To Support A Cake?
Champagne flutes can be used as cake supports as long as they are firmly glued in place to provide a stable base for your cake. To do this, you will need acrylic discs, which can be purchased from glass cutters or Internet companies such as K-mac Plastics or US Plastics. Look for discs that are approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. One-tier or two-tier cakes can be created using this method, although larger cakes may become unstable when separated by champagne flutes. Place three champagne flutes upright onto a 7-inch-diameter acrylic disc and arrange them so that they are evenly spaced around the outer edge of the disc.
