How Do You Use Brasso To Clean Cymbals?
Cymbals are a part of the brass instrument family, often an important part of any band. Cymbals require cleaning on occasion because fingerprints and residue quickly accumulate, as well as outdoor elements that collect when you play the cymbals outdoors in a parade or sporting event. Several cleaning products are on the market for use on cymbals, but these are messy and expensive. Brasso is an inexpensive brass cleaner that works perfectly for cleaning your brass cymbals. Pour a small amount of Brasso onto a soft, lint-free cloth. A lint-free cloth prevents scratches or lint specs from developing on the cymbals. Buff the cymbals gently by rubbing in small circular motions. Start buffing in the middle of the cymbals, and work your way to the outside of the cymbals. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side of the cymbals. Wipe the cymbals clean with a dry lint-free cloth to remove any remaining Brasso solution left behind, which could change the pitch of the cymbals.
