When a chalk line is not readily available, improvising with baby powder at home is just as effective. Cut a length of string that is more than long enough to stretch across the area needing marked. Get a small plastic bowl with lid. Put about ΒΌ cup of baby powder into the plastic bowl. Place the length of string in the bowl with baby powder. Put the lid securely on the bowl. Shake the container a few times to evenly distribute the baby powder onto the string. Tap the top of the lid of the container to make the baby powder settle in the container before opening it.
