How Do You Use Aviane?
Aviane is a birth control pill that works by preventing ovulation. Aviane also causes changes in a woman’s uterine lining and cervical mucus that make it difficult for sperm to reach the uterus and fertilize an egg. This medication contains hormones that may increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack and stroke especially when used by women over 35 years of age or by women who smoke. Talk to your doctor about your risks before deciding to take Aviane. Take the first Aviane pill on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts. Make sure to talk to your doctor about exact usage instructions. Take one Aviane pill at the same time everyday, about 24 hours apart. A regular pack contains enough pills for 28 days, including seven “reminder” pills that should be taken when your period starts. The reminder pills are there to help keep you on your regular cycle.
