How Do You Use An AVG Anti-Spyware Patch?
AVG is a computer program that will scan your entire hard drive in search of computer viruses and spyware files. If it finds such files, it instantly removes them from your hard drive to maintain the security of your computer. Occasionally you’ll need to update AVG so that it knows to be on the lookout for all the latest viruses and spyware programs. To do this, you’ll need to use one of the official AVG patches. Go to the AVG Software Updates page (see References). Click on the link for the AVG patch you’d like to download. This will open a dialog box asking you to choose a location to save the file. Click “Save As” to save the file. Double-click on the AVG update patch you downloaded in the previous step. This will launch the update patch’s installation utility. Click “Next.” The update patch installation utility will extract all of the necessary files from the patch and put them in the necessary directories on your computer.
