Activated charcoal neutralizes odors including pet odor, mold and human waste. It is a much safer product for deodorizing than chemical odor neutralizers and works efficiently. Using activated charcoal around the home, office, garage or just about anywhere else is very easy. You can buy activated charcoal in many forms (loose, imbedded in filters or as part of hanging deodorizers) and in bulk quantities, if necessary. Purchase activated charcoal as loose granules, discs or filters. Look for these products at large stores that sell home cleaning supplies. Pet stores also sometimes carry activated charcoal for odor control. If you have a major odor problem in your home, get the granules. Small discs won’t treat large areas.
