How Do You Use A USB Drive To Load RAID Drivers During Windows XP Installation?

0

The Windows XP installation provides an opportunity during the initial installation setup to load mass storage device drivers, such as RAID and SCSI drivers. The drivers can only be retrieved from a floppy drive, but most computers don’t come with floppies. Windows XP supports a number of USB floppy drives, so mass storage drivers can be loaded without necessitating the installation of an internal floppy drive. Connect the USB floppy drive into the USB port and insert the floppy disk with the RAID drivers. Insert the Windows XP installation CD and restart the computer. Press “F6” when the message “Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver” appears on the bottom of the screen. This message is shown on the first Windows setup page. Scroll down the driver list with your arrow keys until you find the RAID drivers. Select it and hit “Enter.” The Windows XP installation proceeds as normal and your RAID drivers are now installed.
