You can use a pencil drawing as the basis of your Adobe Illustrator artwork. These instructions apply to Adobe Illustrator 8. Procedures for other versions may vary. Scan your drawing into the computer, and bring it into Illustrator. Activate the Autotrace tool. Position the crosshair on the object you want to trace. To trace the entire object, click on the object and Illustrator will draw the path.
