Luckily you can use a dog pen as a cloche for vegetable plants with little work or expense. Simply gather your supplies and you will have a usable cloche in minutes. Remove the bottom from your crate or pen, if included, to create a box with one open side. A pen with just four walls and no top or bottom will work as well. Place the pen or crate in the area of your garden where you want to plant your seedlings. Make sure this is a manageable area where you can easily work around it.
