Windows Millennium, also called Windows ME, is the Windows operating system aptly released in 2000. In 2001, Microsoft released Windows XP. At that time, many ME users decided to continue using Millennium. As of 2009, the latest Windows operating system is Vista, and it is the only version currently offered in new computers — with a new version of Windows just around the corner. Windows Millennium cannot be directly upgraded to Vista, though. ME users can only upgrade to XP. Start the computer and log on to an administrator account, if there are multiple accounts on the computer. Place the Windows XP installation CD into the CD drive. Click “Install Windows” if the disk starts to run automatically. The Setup Wizard will start. Click “Start” and then “Run” if the disk does not run automatically. Click “Browse” and then “My Computer.” Double click the disk drive containing the installation CD. Double click the Setup.exe file and then click “OK.” Select “Upgrade” at the “Installation Typ
