How Do You Upgrade BIOS On A Dell Optiplex GX150?

0

Dell’s Optiplex GX150 is a desktop computer used for consumer applications and some business environments. If you have one of these computers and have not updated the BIOS since you received it, you can do so by getting a BIOS update from Dell’s website. Installing this update doesn’t require computer skills, but you should make a backup of your data before you install it, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. Open a web browser and go to the Dell Optiplex System BIOS download page (see References). Click on the “Download” button and save the file to your desktop. Insert a blank floppy disk into your Optiplex system and then right-click on the file you downloaded, click “Send to” and then choose the “Floppy” option. Restart your computer, press the “Enter” key when prompted and then press the “Y” key twice. The BIOS updates itself automatically. Eject the floppy disk from the computer only when the computer finishes installing the BIOS and restarts itself.
