How Do You Update Video & Sound Card Drivers?
Video and sound cards handle all of the devices you connect to the computer that stream audio or video, or both, including your monitor, speakers and microphone. Like many other components, sound and video cards need up-to-date drivers to run the latest products on your computer. Open your Internet browser and navigate to the website of your video card’s manufacturer—not the site where you purchased the card necessarily but the maker of the product. Click the “Support” option (usually at the top of the screen) and select “Drivers.” Choose your video card device and select the operating system you are currently running. The most up-to-date driver is listed on the screen. Download the driver. Once it has finished downloading, double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts to install the driver. Repeat the process with your sound card to update its drivers.
