How Do You Update Ethernet Controller Drivers?
From time to time your Ethernet drivers, the software that makes your Ethernet card function properly, may need to be updated. This is necessary to ensure that your software is compatible with any new updates your system may have recently installed. The majority of this process is done for you by the operating system, however, you do need to tell it to update. Click “Start” to open the “Start” menu. Right-click on “Computer” or “My Computer,” depending on your version of Windows. Click “Properties.” Click “Device Manager.” This will be located on either the upper-left side or on a tab at the top of the “Properties” window, depending on your version of Windows. Double-click on “Network Adapters” in the “Device Manager” window. This will display your Ethernet card. Right-click on your Ethernet card and click “Update Driver Software…” Select the option to search automatically for updated driver software.
