How Do You Update A VGA Compatible Video Controller?
VGA, or video graphics array, is a method of connecting a monitor to your computer. Although you don’t often need to update any hardware in relation to your VGA connection, an occasional compatible video controller is required for the monitor. This is often required if you reformatted your hard drive or had files removed because of a virus. Whatever the reason, it is possible to install and update your VGA video controller through a standard download. Open your Internet browser and navigate to the VGA download page (see Resources). Click “Download Now” and the updated VGA compatible video controller downloads directly to your computer. Double-click the downloaded file and a prompt window appears on the screen. Click “Yes” and an installation wizard appears on the screen. Click “Next” then accept the license agreement that is displayed. Leave the installation name and location as-is, then choose “Install.” The updated VGA compatible video controller installs directly onto your computer.
