How Do You Update A Computer With Microsoft Windows 98?
Windows 98 came out in the May of 1998 and was the most widely used Windows OS long after that. However, in 2006 Microsoft cut support for Windows 98 and stopped releasing updates for the operating system. You can still download old updates for the Windows 98 OS in order to keep your computer running as up to date as possible. Go to the HPC Factor website (see Resources). This website has all of the Windows 98 updates that were released in one location. Download the “DirectX 9.0c,” “Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1,” “Windows Media Player 7.1” and “Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 SP1” updates. Restart your computer if needed. Download all of the “Critical Updates,” the “Recommended Updates” and the Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player updates. Restart your computer.
