How Do You Unstick A Sliding Glass Door?
A sliding glass door that won’t slide can be wildly frustrating, especially if it’s stuck in an open position where it’s just wide enough to let in drafts and bugs, but not wide enough to let you out. Even worse is when it’s stuck shut and you can see the great outdoors right in front of you, but have to go all the way around your house or building to get out there. Fortunately, it’s often easy to unstick your sliding glass door yourself. Remove the door from its tracks, and set it aside. Most sliding doors are held in their frames by wheels or ball-shaped rollers that sit inside the track behind the door frame. Press the wheels or rollers at the top of the door down with a table knife or screwdriver, and pull the top of the door toward you (the rollers will spring back up once the door is clear of the frame).
