How Do You Unlock An Xbox Hard Drive?
The hard drive that comes inside of an Xbox has been specially adapted so that it can not be used once it has been removed from the video game console. But it is possible to unlock the Xbox hard drive so that it can be used with a Windows-based computer as if it was a regular drive. The process requires patience and careful attention to the steps required, but will not damage the hard drive or the computer. Take off the the power cord and any audio or video cables from the connectors that are on the Xbox. Take the Xbox console and press the release tab that is on the front of the hard drive compartment. Pull the hard drive out from the compartment. Take the Xbox console and place it next to the computer. Plug in the power cord to the Xbox console. Plug in a video connector to the Xbox console and plug the other end into a television set.
