If a user loses a password, the administrator account can be used to reset it. For a Windows XP machine, the administrator can be the username on the local computer or it can be the domain administrator. Resetting a password is accomplished in the “Computer Management” section of Windows XP. Log out and log in as the Windows XP administrator. If you forget the administrator username and password, you can use another username as long as it has administrative rights on the computer.
