How Do You Uninstall Windows XP & Install Windows 2000?

0

While Windows XP is generally regarded as a solid operating system, it is not for everyone. Uninstalling Windows XP in favor of reinstalling Windows 2000 (ME) can be accomplished quickly by simply installing Windows 2000 over your current installation of Windows XP. Note that this will delete everything on your hard drive, so back up important files before beginning. Insert the Windows 2000 installation CD into the computer. Restart the computer and press any key to boot from CD. Press “Enter” and “F8” to accept the licensing terms. Highlight the drive containing Windows XP (normally “C”) and press “Enter.” This will overwrite Windows XP with Windows 2000. Input your product ID and computer name when prompted to complete the installation.
