How Do You Uninstall Windows 2000 SP4?

While many computer programs contain an uninstall wizard which will remove the program from a computer, this isn’t the case with most operating systems. To remove an operating system (such as Microsoft Windows 2000), the hard disk must be reformatted to erase all traces of the operating system structure. Turn on the computer and quickly insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. Press the space bar when the “Press any key to boot from CD” message appears. When the “Welcome to Setup” screen appears, press the “Enter” key. Press “F8” to accept the license agreement. Select the hard disk partition and press “D” to delete the disk partition. Press “C” to create a new partition, and select “Format the partition by using the NTFS file system”. Remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive once the format is complete, and reboot the computer.
