Factory install of Ubuntu, or one you installed. If you have a Windows XP disc, insert it, then reboot the computer and make sure your computer can boot to CD. Windows XP should boot up for the install. Have it delete the current partition, then partition NTSF, when it finishes it will Install your Windows XP. The issue I see here is having Window XP drivers, you need to get them from the Dell Web site if they are available. From a Web search it only came with Vista or the majority of them came with Windows 7. XP was not offered, unless it was a custom order.
