How Do You Uninstall Sound Drivers In Windows XP?

0

Audio cards, like all computer devices, require a specific driver—a program that allows the operating system to communicate with the connected hardware. Occasionally, hardware malfunctions may be driver related; in which case, upgrading, reinstalling or rolling back the driver to a previous version may take care of the issue. In some cases, uninstalling the driver before installing a different version is appropriate, in order to prevent conflicts. This is very easy to do in Windows XP. From the “Start” menu, select Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. A new window appears. In the newly appeared “Computer Management” window, click “Device Manager,” located under “System Tools.” A list of devices opens to the right. In the right pane, scroll down until you see “Sound, video, and game controllers,” hit the plus icon to expand the category, locate your sound card and double-click on it. A new windows pops up. Click on the “Driver” tab and select “Uninstall.” C
