How Do You Uninstall Sound Card Drivers?
A sound card is a computer device that allows sound output to external speakers or headphones and input from a microphone. Hardware devices like sound cards often require a software component called a driver to allow the operating system to use the device. In some cases device drivers may cause system instability or device failure. If you suspect your sound card drivers are causing problems, you may wish to uninstall them. Click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Administrative Tools”, “Computer Management”, and then “Device Manager”. Scroll through the list of device categories, find “Sound, Video and Game Controllers”, and then click on the “+” in front of it to expand a list of your devices. Your sound card will be listed here. Right click on your sound card, select “Properties”, and then click on the “Driver” tab. Click “Uninstall” and then click “Ok” when the system asks if you are sure that you want to uninstall the drivers.
