How Do You Uninstall File & Printer Sharing In XP?
File and printer sharing allows other computers on your network to access files on your computer and to use printers connected to your computer. Uninstalling file and printer sharing removes this feature so other computers can’t access files or printers from your computer. It does not prevent your computer from accessing files and printers on other computers. Click the “Start” button and choose “Control Panel.” Locate the “Network Connections” icon and double-click it. If you don’t see the “Network Connections” icon, click the “Classic View” link on the left side of the Control Panel window and the icon will be displayed. Right-click any connection labeled “Local Area Connection” and select “Properties.” Highlight “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks” and click the “Uninstall” button. A dialog box appears, saying, “Uninstalling a component removes it from all networks.
