How Do You Unclog A Washing Machine Hose?
Your washing machine’s drain hose is not immune from clogs. Washing machine hoses clog for a variety of reasons, including a build up of detergent, thread from garments and lint from towels. The clog is usually in the kink part of the drain hose. A clogged washing machine hose will prevent the machine from going into the spin cycle. You may also notice your washing machine not draining completely or even shutting off all together. Empty the washing machine of any clothes, towels or other fabrics if you were in the middle of a wash cycle and the machine overflowed. Fill the washing machine with hot water. Use a low water setting. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the water in the washing machine. The vinegar will cut through the clog and flush it from the hose. Run the washing machine on a regular cycle. Do not add any clothes, towels or other fabrics to the machine.
