How Do You Turn Wooden Blocks Into Silver Collage Magnets?
Refrigerator magnets are always useful, but isn’t it fun to have magnets that are a little different than the rest? Follow these instructions and you’ll be making bunches of magnets in no time. Begin by choosing the wooden blocks you’d like to use. For this project I used 3/4″ blocks, but smaller or slightly larger will work as well. Don’t go too much larger than 1″, though, or your magnets will be easily knocked off of the refrigerator by running children, dogs, husbands, etc. Cut a strip of the silver plumber’s tape and place it on a flat surface with the backing facing up. Trace around a block four times, once for each side of the block that will be covered. You’ll be leaving one side blank for the magnet. Using small, sharp scissors, cut out each square. Hold each tape square against the block to check placement before removing the paper backing. Remove the backing and press carefully into place. It’s all right if it overlaps a little, but make sure the whole surface is covered. Re
