Everyone is “going green” today. As we attempt to reduce our assault on the Earth, we reuse, recycle and repair. So when you have finished your last round with your treasured set of golf clubs, don’t take them to the landfill. Instead, consider turning them into something useful and enduring, like tent stakes. Retrieve your clubs from the water hazard where you threw them. If it is especially deep, if it is home to alligators, or if you gave them a really strong toss, you may need assistance from the groundskeeper. Try to remove the bend in the shaft that resulted when you wrapped your 5 iron around the tree on number 14. Select the straightest part of the shaft for your stake (assuming some parts are no longer straight). Ideally you will be able to use the section of the shaft that is attached to the club head.
