Windows System Restore allows you to troubleshoot your computer by virtually setting your system settings to an earlier date and time. This task is useful in the event your Windows session refuses to operate or is otherwise unstable. These issues may be caused by a software conflict such as a poor installation, an unstable set of system drivers or any form of user error. However, if you need to turn off System Restore for any troubleshooting or testing purposes, you can effectively do so through the Safe Mode option in your operating system.
