How Do You Turn Off Autofill?
When you use Internet Explorer, the web browser will attempt to help you fill in blanks in web forms, web addresses, and will save user names and passwords using the Autofill or AutoComplete feature. The first time the browser encounters a blank, it will ask you if you want to turn Autofill on, but it will never ask you again after that. Once it is turned on, Explorer will never ask you to turn Autofill off, but it can be turned off easily. Click on the “Tools” menu at the top right of Internet Explorer. If you cannot see the menu, press the “Alt” key to make the menus appear. Select “Internet Options” from the “Tools” menu. This will open a new window on top of Explorer with a number of tabs and options. Click on the “Content” tab at the top of this window. This will change the information in the window to show content options. Click on the “Settings” button underneath the word “AutoComplete.” This will open up a new window on top of the Internet Options window, with some check boxes.
