How Do You Tune An Edge III Tremolo Bridge Guitar?
The Edge III tremolo bridge is a floating tremolo bridge that is installed on low to mid range Ibanez electric guitars. The process to tune an Edge III bridge is similar to most Floyd Rose style tremolo bridges, including the original Edge. The process to tuning guitars with these types of bridges is more involved than a guitar that has a fixed bridge of a non-floating tremolo bridge. Floating tremolo bridges are held in position by the tension of the guitar strings. This means that any adjustment to the string tension when tuning the guitar causes the bridge to shift slightly. This causes the other strings to go slightly out of tune. It takes several repetitions to get the guitar in tune. Loosen the three bolts in the locking nut of the Ibanez guitar using the Allen key. You do not need to completely remove the notes. A half to full turn is sufficient to tune an Edge III bridge. Turn the fine tuners on the bridge, the round knobs at the end of each string, to the middle of their range
