Trend Micro’s PC-cillin is an anti-virus program that strives to provide a layer of protection above and beyond what your operating system has to give. Over time, the program can become problematic because of missing files, corrupted files or hardware failures. You can best troubleshoot the program by reinstalling it entirely. Place the installation disc for PC-cillin into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. Open “My Computer,” double-click the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive and double click the file named “Setup.exe.” Press the “Install” button. Select the option to perform a “Repair” installation. This will overwrite the troubled files with new copies. Open the program and select “Update” to download the latest updates.
