The light is a big help in my refrigerator. It helps me find the things I can not and it makes it so that the deepest darkest corners are illuminated. The only problem is that every now and then the light goes out. How to troubleshoot this “no light” problem is what this ehow is all about. Start by taking the light bulb out of the appliance. Slowly turn counterclockwise to remove the light bulb for inspection. Check the filament is it dark or discolored. The filament should be one long spring stretched across to extended wires. If one of these wires is broke or not present then the light bulb is bad. Use the shake test. In a quite room you should be able to shake the bulb up close to your ear and hear a rattling noise. Some light bulb filaments that are loose will still make the rattle noise and not be bad but if the filament is already starting to come loose it is just better to replace the bulb before it adds to the problem.
