How Do You Troubleshoot Rain Bird Systems?
Your Rain Bird system’s spray heads will need troubleshooting from time to time. After your system has been installed for a while, you likely will run across some problems. These maintenance-type issues are easy to troubleshoot and generally caused by blockages, water pressure problems or the inadvertent dismembering of a sprinkler head by yard maintenance machinery. Determine the kind of problem you are having with your regular spray heads. This is usually one of three issues: 1) Misting, which is a result of too much water pressure. To solve this issue, reduce the pressure; 2) Inaccurate pattern, which is caused by some kind of blockage, so clean the nozzle; and 3) Leakage around the stem, which is caused by debris between the wiper seal and the stem. To take care of this issue, step on the stem while the sprinkler is in operation and the water will flush between the stem and cap.
