How Do You Troubleshoot Quicktime Movies?
Quicktime is an application that allows users to view a variety of movie formats. Quicktime has a proprietary movie format with the file extension .mov. Several technical problems can occur with Quicktime movies that can involve problems with streaming movies in a web-browser to watching saved Quicktime movies from your hard drive. Reinstall the Quicktime browser plugin if you see a broken Quicktime video link in your web browser. To download a Quicktime, visit the Apple website (see Additional Resources). Make sure the file extension is correct on your Quicktime movie. It should end in .mov. If it does not, you can change the file extension by adding a .mov after the file name. Make sure that the volume is not muted if you are experiencing difficulty hearing sounds in your Quicktime movie. To do this, click Window > show a/v control.
