How Do You Troubleshoot Portable CD Players?
Portable CD players are less prevalent now than they used to be. Solid state circuitry found in today’s MP3 music players and music-capable mobile cell phones is a much better technology solution for the knocking around and harsh treatment a personal music playing device can have to endure. Many problems with portable CD players can be related to the mechanical nature of them. Other problems can include audio issues. These kinds of problems can be corrected by following some troubleshooting steps. Clean the CD discs with a soft cloth if the discs skip. Look for scratches and if the discs still won’t play properly after cleaning, and are scratched, discard them and replace them. Turn the portable CD player off and then on again if there’s no display on the screen. The circuitry may have become overloaded. Check that there is indeed a disc in the disc compartment if the device won’t play. Press the “Eject” button and physically inspect the cavity. The disc should be label-side up. Close
