Java Web Start is an application deployment framework developed by Sun Microsystems. The Java Web Start platform allows software developers to deploy Java applications to run on the client computer via Internet websites. The Web Start platform is embedded with the installation of the Java Runtime Environment on a computer. A common issue that arises for Internet users is troubleshooting Java Web Start installations on personal computers. Select the “Start” menu and choose the “Settings,” “Control Panel,” “Folder Options and “File Types” from the menu options.
